How Does a Hot Air Balloon Work?

The guide of Cappadocia Hot air balloon will inform you that a hot air balloon is considered to be an air aircraft that is lighter than air. There are two types of hot air balloon - those that carry passengers and the ones which are for research.

While the passenger hot air balloons use gas such as propane or a similiar gas which renders it lighter, those used for research purpose use gases such as Hydrogen and Helium that are lighter than air. Both the air balloons have envelops which are made of polyester or heat-resistant nylon and grows to over 24 meters tall when filled with gas.

It is essential for the envelop to be large enough to enable sufficient amount of air to be trust upwards. Before the flight the envelop is arranged on the ground with cold air partially filled in it. Then burners are attached below the envelop and heat starts increasing the air temperature, raising the envelop creating buoyancy.

Best Time for Hot Air Balloon Flight in Cappadocia

The best time to ride a hot air balloon flight, as per the Guide of Cappadocia Hot air balloon, is either in the early morning or in the evening. Balloons fly better when the surrounding air is cold and it is during morning and after sunset when it is so.

During this time, it is easy for the pilot to take off, steer the aircraft and land.  If you take a morning flight, when the earth’s surface is colder, you will be able enjoy the flight more. As the balloon flows over 200 feet in the air, the temperature will increase owing to the temperature inversion which is present in the morning. This makes it feel slightly warmer.

Another reason why morning flights are more enjoyable is the wind speed which is better predictable in the morning hours. This makes it easy for the pilot to steer the balloon during its climb up and down, managing the wind going in different directions using various techniques. While direction of the flight will be dependent on the wind, the altitude of the balloon can be controlled by the pilot.
